Coach, Board Member, Volunteer Application Form 

I agree to adhere to the policies and procedures of Canoe Kayak Canada and/or the Member (as applicable), including but not limited to the Code of Conduct and Ethics, Conflict of Interest Policy, Privacy Policy, and Screening Policy. I recognize that I must pass certain screening requirements depending on the position sought, as outlined in the Screening Policy, and that the Screening Committee will determine my eligibility to volunteer or work in the position.

 

 

Safe Sport and Screening Instructions

 

EVERYONE (board members, staff, coaches, officials, & volunteers):

1. Criminal Record Check: Every five years for 19 years or older

2. Complete Safe Sport Course (you will get an NCCP code and possibly a Respect in Sport code):

3. If new to the club, obtain a reference letter related to your position. Please send to registrar@fortcanoekayak.ca

 

COACHES/PROGRAM LEADERS 

4. Making Ethical Decisions Course (in addition to coaching courses):

SENIOR COACHES

5. Complete appropriate coaching courses

6. Obtain a second letter of reference from a previous, relevant, sport-related employer

 

EVERYONE (LAST STEP!) 

1) Go to our RAMP registration page  FCKC Registration Page

If needed , have copies of your Reference Letters ready to upload (none needed if you are known to the club, one needed if you are new to the club, two needed if you are a senior coach)

2) Create an account (if you don't already have one)

3) Coaches choose "Coach/Staff", Board members and volunteers choose "Executive/Volunteer" and complete the registration

4) Add your NCCP code to your information

5) Once registration completed, choose "My Registrations" from the side menu

5) Find your Coach/Exec/Volunteer Registration and click on the green "permits" button

6) Figure out your correct level from the Screening Matrix

7) Click on "Add Response" beside your correct level or renewal and complete those forms.

8) Canoe Kayak BC will upload your Criminal Record Check and Canoe Kayak Canada will have someone screen your application.

    I hereby consent to act as a director of the Fort Canoe and Kayak Club. My consent will continue to be effective until I resign as a director or I revoke my consent. I certify that I am not disqualified from acting as a director under s.124 of the Business Corporations Act (British Columbia). The Board of Directors recommends that any nominee for the Board should meet the requirements of the provincial Business Corporations Act as stated below. BUSINESS CORPORATIONS ACT (BRITISH COLUMBIA) Persons disqualified as directors 124 (1) (2) A person must not become or act as a director of a company unless that person is an individual who is qualified to do so An individual is not qualified to become or to act as a director of a company if that individual is a) under the age of 18 years b) found by a court, in Canada or elsewhere, to be incapable of managing the individual’s own affairs c) an undischarged bankrupt, or d) convicted in or out of British Columbia of an offense in connection with the promotion, formation or management of a corporation or unincorporated business, or of an offence involving fraud, unless i) the court orders otherwise, ii) 5 years have elapsed since the last to occur of (A) the expiration of the period set for suspension of the passing of sentence without a sentence having been passed, (B) the imposition of a fine (C) the conclusion of the term of any imprisonment, and iii) a pardon was granted or issued under the under the Criminal Records Act (Canada).
