16U Boys High Performance (Perform in Water Polo (UCCMS Participant))
$2,850.00
The 16U boys HP Program is a Training to Compete and training to program for boys (born 2009 and younger). The team will compete in the National Water Polo League developed as a collaborative initiative between Clubs, Provincial Sporting Organizations and WPC. It is also meant to build on the competition structure for the clubs, athletes, coaches and officials.
The 16U program is designed to have younger players competing on a regular basis for a longer period of time in intense meaningful games. The majority of games will be played locally against neighboring clubs and Clubs located in the West with one set of cross over games against Eastern based clubs. There is also a Provincial league to supplement and provide more games locally in BC for developing players.
The system of the League and weekly games is not only to increase interest in the participants, excitement for extended time, motivation, it “forces” Coaches to evaluate their programs and plans and to establish “training based on weekly competition” rather than training for the sake of training and having only skills learned.
This Training to Compete program is where emphasis is placed on developing and perfecting the advanced skills. In parallel, the basic skills are maintained and refined, and development of the specific and positional skills is emphasized. Players enrolled in this program are expected to attend all practices and participate in leaguegames, which are on the weekend to encourage maximum participation and minimize missed school.
